Besides School Assemblies, Library Shows, PARP and Family Events & Musical Math Assemblies; Lee Knight offers Camp Performances for children ages 3-9 years old. In the video is it apparent that the children are enjoying this hands on musical Books Alive experience.
Robin Schulman of WNYC, produced a piece about New York City pre-kindergarten teachers using music to teach more complicated subjects such as photosynthesis. Link to WNYC.
Children naturally want to sing so using singing to teach them helps imprint the subject in their brains. Music is just one of the arts used by these teachers.
NYC schools’ Department of Education is upgrading these programs and is looking to add drama, dance and visual arts to their programs.
